Periodic Primary Care Behavioral Health (PCBH) program evaluation is a key component to success. Program evaluation can assist with maintaining clinic and command support, as well as help to identify areas for improvement to better meet the needs of various stakeholders, including patients, primary care managers (PCMs), PCBH staff and program leaders.
A number of program evaluation tools have been developed for DoD PCBH programs. These tools may be used at the programmatic or local level to gain a better understanding of program strengths as well as areas for improvement and include the PCM Satisfaction Survey, PCM Referral Barriers Questionnaire, Internal Behavioral Health Consultant (IBHC) Satisfaction Questionnaire, and IBHC Patient Satisfaction Questionnaire. IBHCs within DoD and service PCBH program leaders have access to these tools.
